Houghton Hall Revisited has been launched in Russia

It is a privilege for Oracle Capital Group to be one of the key sponsors of Houghton Revisited and to be involved in a unique art event that links Moscow, St. Petersburg, New York, Washington, D.C and London.

Two years ago, our group of companies established the Oracle Capital Charitable Foundation, of which I am the  Chairman. The aims of the Foundation are to support the arts, and to provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged young people. Oracle Capital Group believes that only through active involvement in improving the lives of others can people enrich their own lives.

We are passionate about art. We are a platinum patron of The Royal Academy of Arts and a corporate sponsor of Wigmore Hall in London. We support concerts and art exhibitions. We aim to enrich the cultural tapestry of London and, to that end, have put a sculpture in public places and have brought art from Russia to London.

This is our third partnership with Christie’s. Last year we sponsored an exhibition of the works of Alexander Volkov – one of Russia’s pre-eminent artists of the early 20th century – that Christie’s displayed at their headquarters in London.

Oracle Capital Group works with successful businesses and businessmen, who understand the value of Social Responsibility and we strive to build our success the same way. So it is with great pleasure that we are helping to take one of the most unusual and prestigious art collections from Russia to the UK.

Houghton Hall is a glorious place and a wonderful setting for this art. Sir Robert Walpole – Britain’s first Prime Minister – would, I am sure, have fully approved of this venture to return the art temporarily to his home where the collection was once displayed.

The art will briefly adorn the walls it once enhanced, and I am delighted that we have been able to play our part in making this possible.

Lord Clanwilliam

Chairman of Oracle Capital Charitable Foundation
