Oracle Capital Group’s sponsorship has resulted in an art world first – Alexander Volkov’s debut international solo exhibition at leading auction house Christie’s.
With special guests, journalists and art critics, Oracle Capital Group welcomed the Volkov masterpieces and the artist’s family to London.
The Of Sand and Silk Exhibition opened on Tuesday the 4th of September with a reception attended by 300 guests, following the media preview and press conference.
In attendance were the show’s co-curators: the artist’s grandson, Andrey Volkov, and Ms. Marinika Babanazarova, Director of Savistky State Museum of Arts of Karakalpakstan in Nukus (which houses the largest collection of Volkov’s works).
For the first time, audiences outside of Russia and the CIS have had the opportunity to enjoy the work of one of Russia’s most important artists of the 20th century.
