According to a study by Timetric, a London based research and analysis firm, the wealth of High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) in the United States is projected to grow by 25% over the next three years.
The definition used for HNWI by the study is any individual whose net worth exceed $1 million. There was a decrease in the number of HNWI in the US from 2006 until 2011 due to the financial crisis. But according to the study, 2012 produced a 3.9% growth in the HNW population, with the overall net worth of the HNWI growing by 4.7%. The study projects that the HNW population will grow by 19.4 % between now and 2016, and that the wealth increase will be by 25%.
Timetric predicts that HNW investors will create a growth in alternative investments, equities and fixed income, but a decline in investments in cash. Additionally, the study indicates that uncertainty about the Euro will decrease European investments by 20% over the next four years.
