The annual awards for the Society of Trust and Estate Professionals (STEP) took place in London last night, and Oracle Capital Group was proud to be there to present the Geoffrey Shindler Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Profession to Michael Cadeskey, an internationally respected tax specialist.
“It was fantastic to see so many leading professionals gathered for the awards, and an honour play a part in proceedings,” said Edmund, the Earl of Limerick, who is on the Oracle Capital Group advisory board, and who presented the Geoffrey Shindler Award personally to Mr. Cadeskey. “We’re very pleased as a company to be amongst such accomplished peers”.
In the citation for Mr. Cadeskey, the judges noted that he had been instrumental in building STEP Canada, and was a past Chairman of both STEP Canada and STEP Worldwide. He has also spent the better part of the last four years being the Chief Draftsman, Coordinator and Editor of a Model Taxpayer Charter of taxpayer rights and responsibilities, which was published earlier this year.
More than 650 private-client professionals attended the Awards Ceremony, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane hotel, which was hosted by Clare Balding, BAFTA Special Award winner and RTS Presenter of the year.
Chair of the Presiding Judges Paul Stibbard TEP, commented: “This year’s competition raised the bar for the depth and quality of entries from an increasingly international arena. This should act like a beacon for exceptional practice, shining across the more challenging fiscal and economic conditions many professionals now face.”
The event supported international charity Feed the Minds for a third year, raising over £77,000. The charity, which works with local partners in developing countries, delivers education projects to help save lives, reduce poverty and transform communities.
