High Net Worth specialist publication Spear’s has welcomed Oracle Capital Group’s sponsorship of the world’s first Alexander Volkov exhibition outside Russia and the CIS.
Curated and hosted by London’s leading auction house Christie’s, ‘Alexander Volkov: Of Sand and Silk’ features mainly Volkov’s early work and will be on display at Christie’s London headquarters in Mayfair’s King Street from 4 to 21 September.

Oracle Capital Group has been instrumental in bringing together the most extensive exhibition of the seminal Russian artist’s work beyond the CIS. More than 50 pieces have been brought together for the first time, all of which have come from private collections or been temporarily loaned from galleries.
Alexander Volkov, who dabbled in Fauvism, Expressionism, Cubism and Futurism, realised success as a painter relatively early in his career in the early 1920s but later fell out of favour with the State after his art was deemed counter-revolutionary and he lived the last decade of his life in enforced isolation. Likewise his work was removed from galleries and museums, only restored to their rightful positions in the last 20 years.
Volkov’s two sons and his grandson will be in London during the exhibition and will help to provide fascinating insights into the life and work of the artist.
