Oracle Capital Group attends a reception at the Russian Embassy on the occasion of the opening of the Houghton Revisited Exhibition.
As co-sponsors of “Houghton Revisited – Masterpieces of the Walpole Collection”, Oracle Capital Group Charitable Foundation yesterday attended a preview reception to celebrate the opening of the exhibition at the Russian Embassy in London, in the presence of the Russian Ambassador, His Excellency Alexander Yakovenko and Mrs Nana Yakovenko.

The Earl of Clanwilliam, Chairman of Oracle Capital Group’s Charitable Foundation, is coordinating this historic art exhibition at Houghton Hall in Norfolk, home of the Marquis of Cholmondeley, in collaboration with Nicholas Penny, director of the National Gallery and Charles Cator, Vice-Chairman of Christie’s.

This celebrated collection of paintings, owned by Sir Robert Walpole in the 18th century, is on loan from The Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, and will be exhibited this year at Houghton Hall for the first time since the pictures were sold by Walpole’s grandson to Catherine the Great of Russia.

Martin Graham, Chairman of Oracle Capital Group, said: “We were delighted to attend yesterday’s reception at the Russian Embassy. We are proud of the Charitable Foundation’s contribution to the arts and especially in our participation in bringing this unusual and prestigious art collection to the UK.”

“Houghton Revisited – Masterpieces of the Walpole Collection” opens on May 17, 2013 and will run until September 29, 2013.
