The United Kingdom remains a popular destination for students, with its wealth of universities, colleges and schools. However, recent changes to immigration rules left very few options for the students to remain in the country. Yes, there is the Graduate Entrepreneur visa, but that requires the approval from the university, and then the visa would still have to be converted into Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa status.
Based on the current immigration rules there are two visas which are widely used to obtain permanent status in the UK. One of them is an Investor visa, but it has been steadily losing its popularity ever since the investment threshold achieved the £2 million mark. Alternatively, Entrepreneur visa requires a significantly smaller investment (only £200,000 divisible among two people as an option); however, there is also a requirement for the applicant to meet a genuine entrepreneur test. In simple terms, the applicant must show that he or she has the experience and knowledge as an entrepreneur to be successful in making such application.
It was this test that prevented, in no small degree, new graduates from being successful in such applications. Not many recent graduates even lodged such application given the high chance of rejection. However, our advisors have developed a possible solution to the problem and have been very successful with many recent applications. In particular, Entrepreneur visa applications by recent graduates were successful when addressed to the investment into an established company in the UK. Our consultants will select the appropriate company for investment and compile sufficient and proper documentation to be added to application ensuring that it is an undeniable package.
In the past three months, our consultants have been engaged by a recent graduate concerning his immigration matters. The gentleman did not have any substantial work experience himself; however, his father was a prominent entrepreneur with a large family business outside of the UK.
A UK company was located into which the investment was to be made, and the UK company was engaged generally in the business as the family enterprise of the applicant. Thereby, consultants presented the case to the Home Office that the applicant, without confirmed work experience, had a general business knowledge and given that he was investing into an established business would get the appropriate training and guidance. The Home office approved the application in near-record time.
