Former Secretary of State David Blunkett joins Oracle Capital Group Advisory Board

8 July 2013, London: Oracle Capital Group, a global independent multi-family office and wealth consultancy, has announced the appointment the Rt Hon David Blunkett to its Advisory Board.

“I am very pleased indeed to be joining the Advisory Board for Oracle Capital Group,” said Mr Blunkett. “I am looking forward to offering insights from a lifetime of engagement in both the public arena and private and social entrepreneurship, as well as taking a futuristic look at the world of tomorrow. I am also pleased to be able to assist with the charitable outreach of the company and to engage in events to facilitate the good work this entails.”

The Chairman of the Advisory Board, Martin Graham, welcomed Mr Blunkett:

He brings a huge wealth of experience from his time both in Government and Opposition. The current members of the Oracle Capital Group Advisory Board are Martin Graham, Roger Munnings, Lord Clanwilliam, Lord Limerick and Mark Browning.

The Rt Hon David Blunkett is the Member of Parliament for Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough and was a member of Tony Blair’s Cabinet for eight years from 1997.

His responsibilities as Secretary of State have covered the Home Office, Education and Employment as well as Work and Pensions. Formerly leader of Sheffield, England’s fourth largest city, Mr Blunkett has had a wide range of experiences in over 43 years of work in both the public and private sector.

He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield (Department of Politics Crick Centre), visiting lecturer and adviser to the London School of Business and Finance and an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences.

As well as supporting a wide range of charitable endeavours, as Trustee, Vice President and Patron, he is also a familiar speaker, author and media contributor, on both radio and television.
