ORACLE CAPITAL GROUP
June 2013

It’s been an exciting few months for Oracle Capital Group.

The Houghton Revisited exhibition - described by The Times as “spectacular” - has been an overwhelming success. It now seems likely the season will have to be extended so all those who want to view this historic event can attend. If you haven’t been able to see it yet - do! We are of course on hand to help with tickets or accommodation, should you need it.

Our commitment to the arts extends beyond Houghton, with our Charitable Foundation supporting a range of events. The Foundation’s Chairman, the Earl of Clanwilliam, shares his thoughts on this below.

We have also recently welcomed The Earl of Limerick and Mark Browning QC to our Advisory Board. Their experience and insights are unrivalled and will be a great asset to our company and our clients.

Finally, July sees our first-ever webinar - an expert seminar streamed online, conducted by Martin Graham, the Chairman of Oracle Capital Group. You can learn more below and register to participate here.

Everything we do is focussed on helping you - our valued client - get the most out of your business and your life. If you have any comments or suggestions, or want to learn more, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you.

Kind regards,

Yury Gantman
CEO, Oracle Capital Group

HRH Prince Charles: Houghton Revisited “Once in a Lifetime Experience”

Not only was the art world full of praise for the “Houghton Revisited” exhibition which Oracle Capital Group has co-sponsored this year, His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, was also impressed.

Prince Charles officially opened the exhibition at Houghton Hall, home of the 7th Marquess of Cholmondley, in May. He told those gathered for the occasion that the exhibition was “a once in a lifetime experience.”

His Royal Highness described his tour of the collection as a “pleasure” and added that, “I do hope that as many people as possible will have the option to visit”.

The paintings were originally collected by Britain’s first prime minister, (and Lord Cholmondley’s ancestor), Sir Robert Walpole. They were then sold to Catherine the Great of Russia in the 18th Century to pay family debts.

The Earl of Clanwilliam
Chairman of Oracle Capital Charitable Foundation

Oracle Capital Charitable Foundation: Only through active involvement in the lives of others can a person enrich their own life.

The Earl of Clanwilliam, who was appointed Chairman of Oracle Capital Charitable Foundation last year, is delighted with the Foundation’s work so far.

“The Houghton Hall art exhibition is a triumph and a fantastic British-Russian collaboration. Oracle’s sponsorship of it is a real contribution to the art world and evidence of its commitment to the arts in general,” he said.

Other events supported by the Foundation include the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Woods Project, the performance of violinist Maxim Vengerov in Wigmore Hall, an MBA Scholarship for LSBF and display of the Chengis Khan sculpture at Marble Arch.

Despite these achievements, the Foundation is not resting on its laurels but rather planning for the future.

Lord Clanwilliam explained that, “We are now setting out the Foundation’s objectives for the rest of the year. We have previously focussed on students, learning and culture in London in such a way as, we hope, to inspire our audiences in Russia and Eastern Europe as well as in the UK.

“Our mission for the next six months is to continue creating this success and stimulation. Any suggestions from Oracle clients would be most welcome!”

Member of the Advisory Board

Lord Limerick
Member of the Advisory Board

Mark Browning QC and Lord Limerick Join Advisory Board.

Two highly respected and experienced members of the business and legal community, Mark Browning QC and Lord Limerick, recently joined Oracle Capital Group’s Advisory Board. Their appointment strengthens an already impressive line-up of talent.

Mark Browning, who is both a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, said the reason he was attracted to working with Oracle Capital Group was the high calibre of people involved with the company.

“One of the impressive things about the Oracle Advisory Board is the depth and range of knowledge and expertise provided by each of its members,” he explained. “It is an experience shared by a common interest in looking East. All of us have either worked in, or worked for clients in Russia, CIS countries and the Far East, and believe passionately in those markets..

“My own view is that Oracle is ahead of the game, in realising that this market is currently the most important in business terms today. And it is set to grow incrementally, with the expansion of Chinese and Malaysian foreign investment”.

Lord Limerick, who began his career as a member of HM Diplomatic Service with postings in Paris, Dakar and Amman and later headed Morgan Grenfell in Moscow, agreed.

“Oracle Capital Group is committed to giving the very best advice to its clients, across a comprehensive range of services, from legal and financial to property and concierge. The Oracle Advisory Board is an essential part of making this ambition a reality, by making connections to the best of breed in each field.

“Every member of the Board brings a unique set of skills, but we are all united by our international experience and commitment to leading the way in new markets. It is exciting to join such an esteemed group and I look forward to making the experience of each Oracle client even better”.

Mr Browning concluded that, “In my own legal field, the greatest satisfaction that I derive is from helping and guiding foreign nationals through our legal system, whilst ensuring that they get the best service at the best price. I share Oracle’s ethos of ensuring that our clients feel looked after, and can call on specialist advice at any time”.
